About Clinic Visibility

What this publication covers, what it refuses to do, how it is funded and who publishes it.

Short answer

Clinic Visibility is a technical publication about the surfaces on which clinics are discovered. It is published by Northbank Media, funded by paid directory listings and newsletter sponsorship sold at published rates, and it does not rank, score or recommend marketing agencies anywhere on the site.

What this publication covers

Clinic Visibility documents how aesthetic and healthcare clinics are found, treated as a technical discipline rather than as a marketing genre. The subject is the surfaces themselves: organic search, the local pack and Google Business Profile, Maps, answer engines and their citation behaviour, review platforms, directory and citation consistency, schema and entity clarity, site performance as both a ranking and a conversion input, and the measurement of each.

It is written for the person who has to implement: an in-house marketer, a practice manager, or a technically minded clinic owner. Every article is meant to be usable on a Tuesday afternoon by someone with access to the site and the Business Profile.

What it does not do

  • It does not rank agencies. There is no list of top agencies, best agencies, or recommended suppliers anywhere on this site, and there will not be one. Assessing service businesses we have not audited, in an order we cannot justify, is not something a publication can do credibly.
  • It does not invent numbers. No statistic, ranking factor weight, click-through curve or benchmark appears here unless it is traceable to a source that publishes its method. Where the industry quotes a figure we cannot trace, we say the figure is not verifiable and describe the mechanism instead.
  • It does not give medical or legal advice. Regulatory material summarises published guidance and points at the source. Read the source.
  • It does not sell search services. We are a publication, not a supplier.

How it is funded

Two revenue lines, both disclosed on the page where they appear.

  1. A paid tool and vendor directory. Software and service vendors serving clinic marketing can buy a listing in our directory. Listings are sold on published criteria, are labelled as paid, and are presented in a fixed order that is not a ranking. Paying for a listing buys a listing. It does not buy a position, a review, an editorial mention or a link from an article.
  2. Newsletter sponsorship. One clearly labelled sponsor slot per issue, sold at a published rate. Sponsors receive placement and nothing else: no editorial input, no advance sight of the issue, and no influence over what is covered.

We do not run display advertising, we do not take affiliate commission, and we do not publish sponsored articles. The directory page and the newsletter page state the criteria and the rates in full.

Almost every page on this site carries no commercial link of any kind and says so in a block at the foot of the article. One archive article carries a single editorial link to a named organisation, placed by our own editors as an example within the argument of the piece. It was not sold, not paid for, and not requested by the organisation named. That page carries a publisher disclosure block saying exactly this.

Naming an organisation in an article is not a recommendation of it. We have not audited any supplier's work and we do not comment on the quality of anyone's service.

Sourcing

We cite documentation and regulators rather than opinion. In practice that means Google Search Central, Google Business Profile help documentation, Schema.org, the W3C, web.dev, the ASA and the CAP codes, the MHRA, the GMC, the CQC, the ICO and the NHS. Where a mechanism is undocumented, we say it is undocumented and describe what can be reasoned about it, which is usually less than the industry claims.

Who publishes it

Clinic Visibility is published by Northbank Media, which publishes several independent titles. The editorial team is responsible for what appears here. No commercial partner has editorial input, no sponsor sees an issue before publication, and no directory listing has ever changed what an article says.

Corrections

We correct rather than quietly delete. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and note the change. Guidance from the platforms we write about changes frequently, and an article that was accurate in one quarter can be out of date in the next, so corrections are treated as routine maintenance rather than as an embarrassment.

Getting in touch

Corrections, questions, directory enquiries and sponsorship enquiries all go through the contact page. Corrections are answered first.

No commercial links on this page

This article contains no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no links to any agency, supplier, clinic or commercial brand. Nobody paid for it, nobody previewed it and no directory advertiser had sight of it. This publication does not rank or recommend agencies anywhere on the site.

Nothing here is medical or legal advice. Regulatory material summarises published guidance. Read the source before relying on it. Our full position is in the editorial standards.

Briefings when the surfaces change

Documented changes only, roughly monthly.
